Finding one’s passion in life does not always appear early on and the longer you wait, the stronger that passion seems to be. Such is my story as an artist who made this discovery at age sixty-five and has never looked back. Sculpting images that depict the female human spirit began my journey which took on different looks along the way from very realistic to more contemporary sculptures that were finished in bold colors and textured surfaces, most conveying a story. A new direction has materialized in my creative mind as branching out into abstract painting has added a new spark of creativity and changed the way I view and understand art. Abstract painting allows a freedom of expression that was not available to me in the structuring of clay images.
