Bio / Artists statement

Tony Almeida Biography ArtbyTony Tony Almeida was born and raised in the Alfama District of Lisbon, Portugal. This district is the "heart and soul" of Portugal, and he tries to reflect that heart and soul through his paintings. Tony is basically self-taught, with some courses at the Belas Artes School of Lisbon, Portugal. He has exhibited his work around the State of Florida, to include the Backus Museum, Casselberry City Hall, and several solo exhibits at the Peabody Auditorium, in Daytona Beach, Florida. His painting "Night Rehearsal" is on permanent display there. He has also exhibited in Europe, and has been featured in the American Art Collector Magazine, and on the cover of several Gage Magazines. He has recently received an award from the 2019 and 2020 American Art Awards which features artists from around the world. He is an active member of www.floridaartistsregistry.com.
